SEE ALSO...

HLA-DRβ Antibody (DA2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects the HLA-DR beta protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and flow cytometry (FCM). HLA-DRβ (DA2) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. HLA-DR beta protein plays a crucial role in the immune response by forming part of the major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class II molecules, which are essential for presenting processed antigens to CD4+ T helper cells. This interaction is vital for the activation of the adaptive immune response, as CD4+ T cells recognize and respond to pathogens effectively. HLA-DR beta protein is primarily located on the surface of antigen-presenting cells, such as B cells, dendritic cells, and macrophages, where HLA-DR beta protein facilitates the presentation of peptide antigens derived from extracellular proteins. Proper functioning of HLA-DR beta protein is critical for immune surveillance and the maintenance of immune tolerance, and any dysfunction in this process can lead to autoimmune diseases or impaired immune responses. Additionally, polymorphisms in the HLA-DR gene have been associated with various autoimmune conditions, highlighting HLA-DR beta protein′s importance in both health and disease.

Can HLA-DRβ (DA2): sc-53314 monoclonal antibody be used in IF or IHC with mouse tissue or cells? Will there be non-specific staining?

Asked by: DefinitelyNotMatt
Thank you for your inquiry. The use of mouse monoclonal antibodies with mouse samples is very common and typically poses no problem. To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent, HLA-DRβ (DA2): sc-53314 is available in a variety of direct conjugations, such as HRP, PE, FITC and AlexaFluors.
