HLA-B7 Antibody (BB7.1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects HLA-B7 protein of human origin by flow cytometry (FCM). Anti-HLA-B7 antibody (BB7.1) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. HLA-B7 is a crucial component of the major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class I molecules, which are essential for the immune response as they present peptide antigens to T lymphocytes. Specifically, HLA-B7 plays a significant role in the recognition of infected or malignant cells by cytotoxic T cells, thereby facilitating the immune system′s ability to target and eliminate these cells. Expression of HLA-B7 on the surface of nearly all nucleated cells allows for a broad surveillance mechanism, ensuring that the immune system can respond effectively to a variety of pathogens and tumor cells. The polymorphic nature of HLA-B alleles, including HLA-B7, contributes to the diversity of immune responses among individuals, making this protein a critical area of study in immunology and transplantation.

Can HLA-B7 (BB7.1): sc-53304 monoclonal antibody be used in IF or IHC with mouse tissue or cells? Will there be non-specific staining?

Asked by: AbPolly
Thank you for your inquiry. The use of mouse monoclonal antibodies with mouse samples is very common and typically poses no problem. To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent, HLA-B7 (BB7.1): sc-53304 is available in a variety of direct conjugations, such as HRP, PE, FITC and AlexaFluors.
