HIRA Antibody (374C6a) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects HIRA protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB) and immunoprecipitation (IP). Anti-HIRA antibody (374C6a) is available as a non-conjugated format. HIRA protein plays a crucial role in cell cycle regulation, particularly during development, where HIRA is essential for controlling specific gene transcription programs. HIRA expression is notably high in regions containing neural crest cells, which are vital for the proper formation of various tissues and organs. HIRA structure includes seven copies of a WD repeat, which suggests a role in regulating histone gene expression, thereby influencing chromatin dynamics and gene accessibility. HIRA interacts with Cyclin dependent kinase 2 (Cdk-2) and Cyclin A at an RXL motif, leading to phosphorylation of the substrate at Thr 555, a modification critical for cell cycle progression. The gene encoding the 1017 amino acid HIRA protein is located on human chromosome 22q11, an area associated with DiGeorge Syndrome, a congenital disorder characterized by developmental defects linked to neural crest cell populations. HIRA′s ability to mediate these processes underscores HIRA′s importance in both normal development and potential pathologies, making HIRA (374C6a) antibody a valuable tool for researchers studying cell cycle dynamics and related diseases.
