    SEE ALSO...

HIP12 Antibody (1C5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects HIP12 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB) and immunoprecipitation (IP). HIP12 (1C5) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. HIP12 protein plays a crucial role in the brain, where HIP12 is involved in maintaining membrane-cytoskeletal integrity, particularly in the context of Huntington′s disease. This neurodegenerative disorder is characterized by the expansion of a polyglutamine tract in the huntingtin protein, leading to disrupted interactions with huntingtin-interacting proteins like HIP1. While HIP12 does not directly bind to huntingtin, HIP12 shares a similar subcellular distribution with HIP1 and can interact with HIP1, suggesting a potential role in vesicle trafficking and cellular signaling pathways. The unique structural features of HIP12, including endocytic multidomain architecture, underscore HIP12′s importance in cellular processes that are vital for neuronal health. By utilizing anti-HIP12 antibody (1C5), researchers can explore the functional dynamics of HIP12 and its interactions, contributing to a deeper understanding of neurodegenerative mechanisms and potential therapeutic targets.
