SEE ALSO...

Hhip Antibody (5D11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects Hhip protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Hhip antibody (5D11) is available as the non-conjugated form. Hhip plays a crucial role in regulating Hedgehog signaling, which is essential for proper growth and tissue patterning during embryonic development. Located on the cell surface, Hhip interacts with Hedgehog proteins, including Sonic hedgehog, to modulate their activity. This interaction helps prevent excessive signaling that can lead to developmental abnormalities and diseases such as cancer. By binding to Hedgehog proteins, Hhip acts as a negative regulator, ensuring that signaling pathways remain finely tuned. Hhip′s influence on Hedgehog signaling highlights its importance in developmental biology and potential as a therapeutic target in conditions where this pathway is dysregulated.

Can sc-293265: Hhip (5D11) monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: Trav11
Thank you for your question. Yes, sc-293265: Hhip (5D11) is recommended for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
