Datasheets
  • Hepatocyte Specific Antigen Antibody (OCH1E5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 κ Hepatocyte Specific Antigen antibody, cited in 12 publications, provided at 200 µg/ml
  • raised against liver extract of human origin
  • Hepatocyte Specific Antigen Antibody (OCH1E5) is recommended for detection of an uncharacterized antigen present in both adults and fetal normal hepatocytes to produce a distinct granular cytoplasmic staining. This antibody stains the majority of hepatocellular carcinomas of human origin by IF and IHC(P)
  • Anti-Hepatocyte Specific Antigen Antibody (OCH1E5) is available conjugated to agarose for IP; HRP for WB, IHC(P) and ELISA; and to either phycoerythrin or FITC for IF, IHC(P) and FCM
  • also available conjugated to Alexa Fluor® 488, Alexa Fluor® 546, Alexa Fluor® 594 or Alexa Fluor® 647 for WB (RGB), IF, IHC(P) and FCM, and for use with RGB fluorescent imaging systems, such as iBright™ FL1000, FluorChem™, Typhoon, Azure and other comparable systems
  • also available conjugated to Alexa Fluor® 680 or Alexa Fluor® 790 for WB (NIR), IF and FCM; for use with Near-Infrared (NIR) detection systems, such as LI-COR®Odyssey®, iBright™ FL1000, FluorChem™, Typhoon, Azure and other comparable systems
  • m-IgG Fc BP-HRP and m-IgG1 BP-HRP are the preferred secondary detection reagents for Hepatocyte Specific Antigen Antibody (OCH1E5) for IHC(P) applications. These reagents are now offered in bundles with Hepatocyte Specific Antigen Antibody (OCH1E5) (see ordering information below).

SEE ALSO...

Hepatocyte Specific Antigen Antibody (OCH1E5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Hepatocyte Specific Antigen protein of human origin by immunofluorescence (IF) and immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP). Hepatocyte Specific Antigen (OCH1E5) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Hepatocyte Specific Antigen, also known as Hepatocyte Paraffin 1 or Hep Par 1, is primarily localized to the mitochondria of hepatocytes, which is crucial for its role in cellular metabolism and energy production. This localization is significant because Hepatocyte Specific Antigen helps diagnose hepatocellular carcinomas (HCC) in humans and dogs, while distinguishing these tumors from metastatic carcinomas and cholangiocarcinomas. Strong expression of Hepatocyte Specific Antigen is associated with smaller tumor sizes and improved patient survival rates. While HCCs predominantly occur in the liver, these tumors can also manifest in other organs, and Hepatocyte Specific Antigen may serve as a valuable marker for intestinal metaplasia. A small percentage of HCCs may lack Hepatocyte Specific Antigen, which could indicate an alternative mechanism of hepatocarcinogenesis in the early stages of disease. Hepatocyte Specific Antigen is found to a lesser extent in gastric carcinomas and a few other non-hepatic tumors, further highlighting Hepatocyte Specific Antigen′s relevance in cancer diagnostics.

1. Is it know if this antibody cross-react with Pig? Other than this reference: PLoS ONE 7(10): e47273. https://doi.org/10.1371/journal.pone.0047273 2. Has anyone tried it in flow cytometry? I see that it has only been validated for IHC.

Asked by: MicheleS
Thank you for your question. We do not have any data or references suggesting that this antibody would cross-react with pig. We also do not have any data or references using this antibody for flow cytometry. The conjugated primary antibody is recommended and warrantied for flow cytometry (FCM), however we are still gathering data to show on our website. Check back for updates!

I want to use this antibody for Western blot, but you do not recommend it for that application. Can I?

Asked by: TinTin
This antibody has only been validated for IHC applications, and we can not recommend nor warranty it for WB use.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from
