HE4 Antibody (3F9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects HE4 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-HE4 antibody (3F9) is available as the non-conjugated format. HE4 protein, also known as whey acidic protein (WAP)-type four-disulfide core-2 or WFDC2, plays a significant role in reproductive biology, particularly in influencing sperm maturation, which is crucial for fertility. This small secretory protein is predominantly expressed in pulmonary epithelial cells and is also associated with certain ovarian cancers, making HE4 (3F9) antibody a valuable biomarker in oncology. Structurally, HE4 contains a WAP motif characterized by eight cysteines that form four disulfide bonds, which are essential for stability and function as a protease inhibitor. This motif not only contributes to structural integrity but also enhances proteolytic activity regulation in various physiological processes, underscoring HE4′s importance in both normal and pathological states.
