hCAP-D2 Antibody (E-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects hCAP-D2 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-hCAP-D2 antibody (E-6) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. hCAP-D2 protein is a crucial component of the condensin complex, which is essential for proper resolution and segregation of sister chromatids during mitosis, thereby ensuring accurate cell division. The condensin complex is composed of heteropentamers that include two structural maintenance of chromosomes (SMC) subunits and three non-SMC subunits, with hCAP-D2 being one of the key non-SMC components. hCAP-D2 interaction with histones H1 and H3 at its C-terminus is particularly important, as this interaction facilitates chromatin organization and chromatid structure maintenance. Disruption or loss of hCAP-D2 can lead to severe consequences, such as disorganization of chromatid axes, misalignment of sister chromatids during metaphase, and delays in the transition to anaphase, which can ultimately contribute to genomic instability and various diseases, including cancer.
