HB-EGF Antibody (H-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody engineered to detect Heparin-binding EGF-like growth factor (HB-EGF), also known as HBEGF or the 87-amino acid EGF-like glycoprotein. HB-EGF monoclonal antibody (H-1) specifically binds to an epitope spanning amino acids 183-213 within the C-terminal cytoplasmic domain of HB-EGF from mouse origin, ensuring precise detection of precursor HB-EGF across multiple species, including mouse, rat, and human, in applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). HB-EGF is a crucial member of the epidermal growth factor (EGF) family of mitogens, characterized by its dual structure comprising a membrane-bound precursor with a transmembrane domain and signal peptide, and a mature soluble form resulting from proteolytic cleavage. This structural versatility allows HB-EGF to engage in both autocrine and paracrine signaling, facilitating essential cellular processes such as proliferation, differentiation, and survival. The membrane-bound form of HB-EGF also serves as the receptor for diphtheria toxin, highlighting its significant role in cellular interactions and pathogen entry. The precise structural configuration of HB-EGF is vital for its interaction with the EGF receptor (EGFR) and heparin sulfate proteoglycans on the cell surface, which are critical for effective signal transduction and cellular communication. HB-EGF (H-1) antibody is available in both non-conjugated form and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® variants, providing researchers with versatile options for diverse experimental needs. Anti-HB-EGF antibody (H-1) recognition of precursor forms of HB-EGF in multiple species makes this antibody an indispensable tool for studying growth factor signaling pathways, tissue regeneration, and disease mechanisms such as cancer and cardiovascular disorders.
