I can't get the antibody to work on WB of cell lysate from Human and CHO cells-lines. I followed the protocols as cited unfortunately it is not working. Any recommendations, please?

Asked by: AmiraZine
Thank you for your question. We are sorry to hear that this antibody has not worked properly in your experiments yet. If you contact Technical Service directly with the parameters of your assay we will provide in-depth troubleshooting of your experiment.

Could this HB-EGF Antibody (G-11): sc-74441 be used to detect cytoplasmic tail fragment form of HB-EGF?

Asked by: XIERH
Thank you for your question. This antibody was raised against amino acids 121-208 of mature HB-EGF of human origin. The exact binding epitope has not been mapped. If you have any further questions, please contact your local distributor or Technical service directly.

Could this HB-EGF Antibody (G-11): sc-74441 be used for mouse cells western blot? Could this antibody detect both precursor and mature form of HB-EGF, eliciting multiple target bands for mouse cells western blot?

Asked by: dentalong
Thank you for your question. This HB-EGF antibody was made against the mature form, but can detect both the precursor and mature form of HB-EGF. It is only recommended for human samples, however we do have a citation using it on mouse samples (PMID: 24244689). Please contact Technical Service by phone, (800)-457-3801 option 2, email <[email protected]>, or by live chat directly on our website, www.scbt.com if you have any further questions.

Can HB-EGF (G-11): sc-74441 monoclonal antibody be used in IF or IHC with mouse tissue or cells? Will there be non-specific staining?

Asked by: TinTin
Thank you for your inquiry. The use of mouse monoclonal antibodies with mouse samples is very common and typically poses no problem. To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent, HB-EGF (G-11): sc-74441 is available in a variety of direct conjugations, such as HRP, PE, FITC and AlexaFluors.
