GW182 Antibody (G-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG3 antibody that detects GW182 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). GW182 is a critical cytoplasmic marker protein for GW bodies (GWBs), which serve as essential storage centers and degradation sites for messenger RNAs (mRNAs). The proper functioning of GW182 is vital for the maintenance and stability of GWB structures, as any disassembly or disruption of these bodies can significantly impair the silencing activity of small interfering RNAs (siRNAs) and microRNAs (miRNAs). This is particularly important in cellular processes that regulate gene expression and maintain cellular homeostasis. GW182 is ubiquitously expressed and has been shown to interact with endogenous argonaute-2 (Ago2), a key player in the RNA-induced silencing complex, which is also enriched in GWBs. Notably, GW182 has been implicated in various autoimmune conditions, as patients with ataxia, Sjögren′s syndrome, and sensor neuropathy disease often develop autoantibodies against proteins associated with GWB structures. Anti-GW182 antibody (G-10) provides a reliable tool for researchers studying the intricate roles of GWBs and their associated proteins in gene regulation and disease mechanisms.
