Datasheets
  • GS2 Antibody (E-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG3 κ GS2 antibody provided at 200 µg/ml
  • specific for an epitope mapping between amino acids 90-121 within an internal region of GS2 of human origin
  • recommended for detection of GS2 of human origin by WB, IP, IF and ELISA
  • m-IgG3 BP-HRP is the preferred secondary detection reagent for GS2 Antibody (E-8) for WB applications. This reagent is now offered in a bundle with GS2 Antibody (E-8) (see ordering information below).

    SEE ALSO...

GS2 Antibody (E-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG3 kappa light chain antibody that detects GS2 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-GS2 antibody (E-8) is available as a non-conjugated format, providing researchers with a reliable tool for studying this important protein. GS2, also known as DXS1283E or patatin-like phospholipase domain containing 4 (PNPLA4), plays a crucial role in lipid metabolism, particularly in the regulation of lipolysis in adipose tissue. GS2 is expressed in various tissues, including the brain, heart, lung, muscle, placenta, liver, spleen, pancreas, and kidney, with particularly high expression levels in adipose tissue. GS2 presence is significant because GS2 contributes to the breakdown of triglycerides, which is essential for maintaining energy homeostasis in the body. Additionally, GS2 interacts with other members of the Adiponutrin family, such as adipocyte triglyceride lipase (ATGL) and GS2-like (patatin-like phospholipase domain containing 5), to modulate lipid storage and mobilization. The coordinated action of these proteins is vital for metabolic health, and dysregulation can lead to conditions such as obesity and insulin resistance. GS2 (E-8) antibody is an invaluable resource for scientists investigating lipid metabolism and related disorders.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-393988 P appropriate for?

    Asked by: DefinitelyNotMatt
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
