group VI iPLA2 Antibody (D-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects group VI iPLA2 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). group VI iPLA2 Antibody (D-4) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. group VI iPLA2 plays a crucial role in lipid metabolism by catalyzing the release of fatty acids from phospholipids, which is essential for maintaining cellular membrane integrity and signaling pathways. Notably, group VI iPLA2 is membrane-bound and exists in several isoforms due to alternative splicing, with two isoforms, Ankyrin-iPLA2-1 and -2, lacking the catalytic domain and believed to negatively regulate iPLA2 activity. The SH-iPLA2 isoform is localized in the cytoplasm, highlighting the diverse functional roles of iPLA2 in cellular processes. The human gene encoding iPLA2 is located on chromosome 22q13.1, and iPLA2′s interaction with other phospholipases, such as secretory phospholipases A2, underscores iPLA2′s importance in the broader context of phospholipid metabolism and eicosanoid biosynthesis.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-376563 P appropriate for?

Asked by: AbPolly
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Works wellI tried this antibody on mouse human brain tissue homogenates (NP40 supernatants). The antibody detected Full Length GVI iPLA2 (at ~78 kDa) as well as a putative cleaved fragment at ~35 kDa. In addition the antibody detected a presumable non-specific band at 13 kDa, which was yielded the most intense signal.
