Datasheets
  • GRIFIN Antibody (50) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 κ GRIFIN antibody provided at 200 µg/ml
  • raised against amino acids 31-144 of GRIFIN of rat origin
  • recommended for detection of GRIFIN of mouse and rat origin by WB and IP
  • available conjugated to agarose for IP; and to HRP for WB, IHC(P) and ELISA
  • m-IgG Fc BP-HRP, m-IgG1 BP-HRP and m-IgGκ BP-HRP are the preferred secondary detection reagents for GRIFIN Antibody (50) for WB applications. These reagents are now offered in bundles with GRIFIN Antibody (50) (see ordering information below).

    SEE ALSO...

GRIFIN Antibody (50) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects GRIFIN protein of mouse and rat origin by western blotting (WB) and immunoprecipitation (IP). Anti-GRIFIN antibody (50) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose and horseradish peroxidase (HRP). GRIFIN protein, also known as galectin-related inter-fiber protein, is a unique 144 amino acid protein that forms a homodimer and features a galectin domain, which is crucial for its function in the lens of the eye. As a highly abundant soluble lens protein, GRIFIN serves as a binding partner for α-crystallin, contributing to the maintenance of lens transparency and refractive properties. The gene encoding GRIFIN is located on mouse chromosome 5 G2, while its human counterpart maps to chromosome 7, a region associated with various genetic disorders, including Osteogenesis imperfecta and Williams-Beuren syndrome. GRIFIN′s interaction with other lens proteins is vital for the structural integrity and function of the lens, highlighting GRIFIN′s importance in ocular health and potential implications in lens-related pathologies.

What blocking solution should I use with GRIFIN (50): sc-136350 monoclonal antibody for Western blot?

    Asked by: DefinitelyNotMatt
Thank you for your question. We recommend blocking with Blotto (either TBS Blotto A: sc-2333 or TBS Blotto B: sc-2335). Our Western blot protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/western-immuno-blotting
