SEE ALSO...

GRAMD4 Antibody (C-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects GRAMD4 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). GRAMD4 Antibody (C-8) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The gene encoding GRAMD4, known as GRAM domain-containing protein 4, is located on human chromosome 22, which houses over 500 genes and is the second smallest human chromosome. GRAMD4, also referred to as death-inducing protein (DIP), is a 578 amino acid protein situated in the mitochondrial membrane, playing a crucial role in mediating the p53-independent E2F-1 death pathway, a mechanism often disrupted in various cancers. GRAMD4 triggers a robust apoptotic response through the activation of caspase-3 and the cleavage of poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase, highlighting potential as a therapeutic target in cancer treatment. GRAMD4 is expressed in lung tissue and is up-regulated in primary lung squamous cell carcinoma following E2F-1 activation, particularly after the administration of 4-hydroxytamoxifen. GRAMD4 has two isoforms generated through alternative splicing, which may contribute to functional diversity and regulatory mechanisms in cellular processes.
