SEE ALSO...

GR Antibody (3D5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects Glucocorticoid Receptor (GR) in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and flow cytometry (FCM). GR (3D5) antibody is available in a non-conjugated form, allowing for versatile experimental setups. GR is a crucial transcription factor that mediates the physiological effects of glucocorticoids, which are steroid hormones involved in metabolism, immune response, and stress regulation. GR (3D5) monoclonal antibody recognizes the protein predominantly in the cytoplasm, where GR exists in an inactive form bound to heat shock proteins, particularly HSP90. Upon binding to glucocorticoids, GR translocates to the nucleus, where GR regulates gene expression by interacting with specific DNA sequences. This translocation enables GR to modulate the transcription of target genes, influencing processes such as apoptosis, cell growth, and differentiation. The ability of GR to regulate gene expression maintains homeostasis and stress response, making GR a significant target for therapeutic interventions in various diseases, including cancer and autoimmune disorders.

Your product information states that this antibody is "raised against a peptide fragment of GR of human GR". Can you tell me where exactly on the GR protein the antibody recognizes (ie-N-terminus, DNA binding domain)?

Asked by: JScheimann
Thank you for your question. This antibody is raised against a peptide mapping within the N-terminal domain, not within the DNA binding domain.

What is the recommended secondary reagent to be used with this mouse monoclonal primary?

Asked by: jerojero
We recommend using one our exclusive Mouse IgG Binding Proteins as a secondary detection reagent. A complete list of available binding proteins is available on our website here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/browse/support-products-mouse-igg-binding-proteins/_/N-ecrety
