SEE ALSO...

GPx-5 Antibody (G-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects glutathione peroxidase 5 (GPx-5) in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). GPx-5 is a unique selenium-independent isoform of the glutathione peroxidase family, primarily localized in the acrosome of sperm cells, where GPx-5 plays a crucial role in protecting sperm from oxidative damage during maturation in the epididymis. This localization helps maintain sperm viability and function, which are essential for successful fertilization. GPx-5 presence in the acrosome suggests involvement in preventing premature acrosome reactions, ensuring sperm are fully prepared for fertilization. With an ability to mitigate oxidative stress, GPx-5 is vital for male fertility, making anti-GPx-5 antibody (G-1) an important tool for researchers studying reproductive biology and related disorders.
