GPR3 Antibody (18-L) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects G protein-coupled receptor 3 (GPR3) in human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). GPR3 is a 330 amino acid member of the G protein-coupled receptor 1 family, primarily located in the cellular membrane of cells, with significant expression in the central nervous system. GPR3 plays a crucial role in the regulation of cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) levels, which is vital for various cellular processes, including neurite outgrowth and myelin inhibition. GPR3′s ability to stimulate cAMP production is particularly important in oocytes, where GPR3 can halt meiosis and prevent progesterone-induced meiotic maturation, thereby influencing reproductive processes. Notably, mice lacking GPR3 can reproduce but exhibit a lack of control over oocyte maturation, leading to nondeveloping early embryos and fragmented oocytes as they age.
