    SEE ALSO...

GPIHBP1 Antibody (F-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects GPIHBP1 of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). GPIHBP1 (F-4) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. GPIHBP1, or glycosylphosphatidylinositol anchored high density lipoprotein binding protein 1, plays a crucial role in lipid metabolism by facilitating chylomicron transport from intestines to other tissues. Located in capillary endothelial cells, GPIHBP1 serves as a platform for lipoprotein lipase-mediated hydrolysis of triglycerides in chylomicrons, primarily in heart, skeletal muscle, and adipose tissue. This interaction ensures efficient lipid processing, preventing accumulation and associated metabolic disorders. GPIHBP1 consists of 184 amino acids and functions as a single-pass membrane protein influenced by dietary factors and peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma (PPARγ). Mutations in GPIHBP1 are associated with chylomicronemia syndrome, a rare genetic disorder characterized by lipoprotein lipase deficiency, leading to symptoms such as enlarged liver and spleen, pancreatitis, and fatty deposits in various tissues, including skin and retina.
