GP-39 Antibody (D-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgM antibody that detects GP-39 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-GP-39 antibody (D-11) is available as the non-conjugated form. Human cartilage glycoprotein 39 (GP-39), also known as YKL-40, is a glycoprotein secreted by articular chondrocytes, synoviocytes, and macrophages, playing a crucial role in the inflammatory response. Elevated levels of GP-39 in serum and synovial fluid are associated with inflammatory diseases, particularly correlating with the degree of joint destruction in rheumatoid arthritis, making GP-39 a significant biomarker for disease progression. GP-39 is primarily expressed in articular chondrocytes and synovial cells, with additional expression in the liver, while remaining undetectable in muscle tissues, lung, pancreas, mononuclear cells, and fibroblasts. GP-39′s structure, characterized by glycosylation and ability to form homodimers, is essential for modulating inflammation and tissue remodeling. GP-39′s role as a candidate autoantigen in rheumatoid arthritis highlights GP-39′s importance in the immune response, as GP-39 aids cells in adapting to environmental changes, thus contributing to the pathophysiology of joint diseases.
