SEE ALSO...

GMF-β Antibody (SP-61) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects GMF-beta protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). GMF-beta (SP-61) antibody is available as the non-conjugated form. Glia maturation factor beta (GMF-β) is a critical protein that plays a significant role in the nervous system, particularly in brain cell differentiation and neural regeneration. GMF-beta protein is phosphorylated following phorbol ester stimulation, which enhances activity in promoting neuroprotection and inhibiting tumor cell proliferation. GMF-beta protein has been shown to increase the production of brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) in astrocytes, a process that is further stimulated by exercise, highlighting GMF-beta′s importance in exercise-induced neuroprotection. GMF-beta protein is produced by thymoma tumor cells, which is essential for maintaining T-cell development in that context. GMF-beta′s ability to interact with various signaling pathways underscores potential as a therapeutic target in neurodegenerative diseases and cancer, making GMF-beta (SP-61) antibody a valuable tool for researchers studying these critical biological processes.

I am using GMF-β (SP-61): sc-134347 for immunofluorescence, what dilution of this antibody should I use?

Asked by: Dr Ninau Qelp
Thank you for your question. We recommend a starting dilution of 1:50. However, optimal antibody concentration should be determined by titration. Please find our full immunofluorescence protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunofluorescence-cell-staining
