SEE ALSO...

Glyoxalase II Antibody (F-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Glyoxalase II protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Glyoxalase II antibody (F-9) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Glyoxalase II (F-9) antibody targets a protein that plays a crucial role in detoxifying harmful glucose degradation products, functioning as a thiolesterase that catalyzes the hydrolysis of S-D-lactoyl-glutathione to produce reduced glutathione and D-lactic acid. This enzymatic activity is vital for maintaining cellular health, particularly in oxidative stress and metabolic regulation. Glyoxalase II primarily resides in mitochondria and cytosol of mammalian cells, existing as a monomer and binding two zinc ions per subunit, a structural feature essential for enzymatic function. Notably, both Glyoxalase I and Glyoxalase II show increased activity in breast cancer tissues compared to matched unaffected tissues, indicating potential as therapeutic targets and suggesting glyoxalase inhibitor drugs may be effective in cancer treatment.
