    SEE ALSO...

Glucosidase IIβ Antibody (A-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects Glucosidase IIβ in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Glucosidase IIβ plays a crucial role in the proper folding and maturation of glycoproteins by trimming glucose residues from N-linked core glycans in the endoplasmic reticulum, which is essential for ensuring that proteins achieve their correct conformation before being transported to their final destinations. Glucosidase IIβ is part of a heterodimeric complex with Glucosidase IIα, where Glucosidase IIβ contributes to the enzyme′s stability and localization. Notably, Glucosidase IIβ contains a C-terminal HDEL sequence that serves as an endoplasmic reticulum retention signal, allowing the enzyme complex to remain in the ER, where Glucosidase IIβ is most active. This retention is vital for maintaining the quality control of glycoprotein synthesis, as misfolded proteins can lead to cellular stress and disease. Additionally, the phosphorylated form of Glucosidase IIβ is found at the plasma membrane and is significantly upregulated in fibroblasts and epidermal carcinoma cells stimulated by fibroblast growth factor, highlighting Glucosidase IIβ′s potential role in cellular signaling and cancer biology. Anti-Glucosidase IIβ antibody (A-7) is an invaluable tool for researchers studying glycoprotein processing and related cellular mechanisms.
