Glomulin Antibody (YY-Z) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects human Glomulin protein by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Glomulin antibody (YY-Z) is available as non-conjugated format. Glomulin, also known as FKBP-associated protein (FAP), is essential for normal vascular system development, playing a pivotal role in vascular smooth muscle cell differentiation and vascular morphogenesis. Glomulin primarily localizes to the cell membrane, where Glomulin acts as a membrane-anchoring protein, facilitating interactions with other cellular components and influencing signaling pathways critical for vascular integrity and function. Proper Glomulin localization is vital, as disruptions can lead to glomuvenous malformations (GVMs), characterized by smooth muscle-like glomus cells in distended vascular lumens. The glomulin gene, located on chromosome 1p21-22, maintains vascular homeostasis, and complete loss of function results in GVM development. Glomulin exists in two isoforms, FAP48 and FAP68, which may have distinct roles in vascular biology.

I am using Glomulin (YY-Z): sc-100752 for immunofluorescence, what dilution of this antibody should I use?

Asked by: Dr Ninau Qelp
Thank you for your question. We recommend a starting dilution of 1:50. However, optimal antibody concentration should be determined by titration. Please find our full immunofluorescence protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunofluorescence-cell-staining
