SEE ALSO...

GGT5 Antibody (F-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects GGT5 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). GGT5 (F-8) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The γ-glutamyltranspeptidase (GGT) family, which includes GGT5, plays a crucial role in glutathione metabolism, a key antioxidant in the body. GGT5 specifically catalyzes the conversion of leukotriene C4 to leukotriene D4, which is important in inflammatory responses and immune regulation. GGT5 is predominantly located on the outer surface of the cell membrane, facilitating involvement in the transfer of glutamyl moieties to various amino acids and dipeptides, thereby influencing cellular signaling and homeostasis. GGT5 exhibits a unique glycosylation pattern that contributes to functional diversity, and variations in this glycosylation can affect activity and interactions with other proteins. In clinical contexts, elevated GGT activity, including GGT5, can serve as a biomarker for liver diseases, making GGT5 a valuable target for research and diagnostic applications.
