Why was this antibody discontinued? We have 7 different GFP antibodies in the lab, and this was apparently the best when I tried to compare. I wanted to order more for my future experiment, but it's discontinued. Would you recommend a better rabbit ab?

Does this antibody can recognize EGFP-Luciferase fusion protein?

Thank you for your question. Yes, this rabbit polyclonal antibody was raised against full length GFP protein, which has a high degree of sequence identity with the EGFP mutant protein. It should therefore be able to also recognize the EGFP protein. This antibody is now discontinued. We would recommend using the currently available mouse monoclonal antibody, GFP Antibody (B-2): sc-9996, which should also detect the EGFP protein.

Thank you for your question. This rabbit polyclonal antibody should also detect EGFP based on sequence identity with the antigen. Please note that this antibody is now discontinued. We currently offer a mouse monoclonal GFP Antibody (B-2): sc-9996 which is one of the recommended alternatives to this now discontinued antibody. Please contact our Technical Service Department for more information on how to receive a free 10 ug sample of this monoclonal antibody.

What's the difference between sc-9996 and sc-9996 HRP in terms of detection sensitivity and background noise when use in Western Blot experiment?

Thank you for your question. The HRP conjugated primary antibody is more specific and potentially has less non-specific binding, depending on the secondary antibody used for detection. Using the directly conjugated primary antibody also saves time and money on reagents.

Will this work with IHC using Anti-Rabbit-HRP?
