    SEE ALSO...

Gemin7 Antibody (H-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects Gemin7 protein of mouse and rat origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Gemin7 (H-9) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Gemin7 protein, consisting of 131 amino acids, is encoded by the mouse gene Gemin7 and plays a crucial role as a component of the large multiprotein survival of motor neuron (SMN) complex, which is essential for the assembly of small nuclear ribonucleoproteins (snRNPs) that are vital for pre-mRNA splicing. The SMN complex is particularly important in spinal muscular atrophy, a neurodegenerative disease, as SMN complex includes the survival of motor neurons (SMN) protein, which is directly linked to the pathology of this condition. Notably, Gemin7, along with Gemin6, adopts a canonical Sm fold despite lacking significant sequence similarity with Sm proteins, and forms a heterodimer that interacts through a similar interface to that of Sm proteins. This interaction is critical for the binding of the Gemin6/Gemin7 complex to Sm proteins, facilitating the organization of Sm proteins necessary for the formation of Sm rings on snRNA targets, thereby underscoring Gemin7′s importance in RNA processing and gene expression regulation.
