GCP4 Antibody (D-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects GCP4 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). GCP4 (D-5) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. GCP4, also known as gamma-tubulin complex component 4, is a crucial 667 amino acid protein that plays a significant role in microtubule organization and nucleation, particularly during cell division. GCP4 is a key member of the γ-Tubulin complex, which includes other essential proteins such as GCP2, GCP3, GCP5, and GCP6, all of which are vital for the formation and function of microtubule organizing centers. GCP4 is predominantly localized to the metaphase spindle during mitosis, where GCP4 facilitates the proper alignment and separation of chromosomes. Notably, in response to proteasome inhibition, GCP4 accumulates at the pericentriolar material, enhancing GCP4′s role in microtubule dynamics. Precise regulation of GCP4 and interactions with other γ-Tubulin complex components are critical for maintaining cellular integrity and ensuring accurate cell division, making GCP4 an important target for research in cell biology and cancer studies.
