SEE ALSO...

GCM1 Antibody (R-06) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects GCM1 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-GCM1 antibody (R-06) is available as a non-conjugated format. GCM1, or glial cells missing homolog 1, is a 436 amino acid protein that serves as a crucial transcription factor in placental development. GCM1 is specifically localized to the nucleus and predominantly expressed in the placenta, where GCM1 plays a vital role in regulating gene expression necessary for trophoblast differentiation and placental formation. GCM1 binds to a unique DNA sequence (A/G)CCCGCAT, which is essential for transcriptional regulation of genes involved in placental development. GCM1 is implicated in regulating syncytin SU-mediated trophoblastic fusion, a critical process leading to syncytiotrophoblast formation, essential for proper placental functioning. A conserved N-terminal GCM DNA-binding domain within GCM1 enhances interaction with various transcription factors, influencing developmental processes, making GCM1 both a marker for placental tissues and a significant player in understanding placental biology and associated disorders.

I am using GCM1 (R-06): sc-101173 for immunofluorescence, what dilution of this antibody should I use?

Asked by: jerojero
Thank you for your question. We recommend a starting dilution of 1:50. However, optimal antibody concentration should be determined by titration. Please find our full immunofluorescence protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunofluorescence-cell-staining
