GBP1 Antibody (1B1) is a rat monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects GBP1 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry. Anti-GBP1 antibody (1B1) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. GBP1, or guanylate binding protein 1, is a 592 amino acid protein that belongs to the GTPase protein family and is crucial for binding guanine nucleotides such as GMP, GDP, and GTP. GBP1′s ability to hydrolyze GMP to GTP through two consecutive cleavage steps underscores its importance in cellular signaling pathways. GBP1 is primarily localized in the cytoplasm and is expressed in endothelial cells of the vascular system, where interferon-gamma induces expression during macrophage activation. GBP1 plays a significant role in regulating matrix metalloproteinase-1 expression, which is involved in endothelial cell proliferation and invasiveness. GBP1 is integral to inflammatory cytokine regulation and provides protection against vesicular stomatitis and encephalomyocarditis viruses. GBP1 expression is markedly elevated in vessels of skin diseases such as psoriasis and Kaposi′s sarcoma, establishing GBP1 as a novel cellular activation marker that characterizes inflammatory responses in endothelial cells.
