SEE ALSO...

Gα o Antibody (A2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Gα o in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and immunofluorescence (IF). Anti-Gα o antibody (A2) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Gα o plays a crucial role in cellular signaling as a member of the heterotrimeric G protein family, which transmits signals from cell surface receptors to intracellular effectors. Specifically, Gα o is involved in the modulation of ion channels and the regulation of neurotransmitter release, making Gα o essential for processes such as synaptic transmission and muscle contraction. Gα o is primarily located in the plasma membrane, where Gα o interacts with various receptors and effectors, facilitating the conversion of extracellular signals into appropriate cellular responses. Understanding the localization and function of Gα o is vital for elucidating Gα o′s role in physiological processes and implications in various diseases, including neurological disorders and cardiovascular diseases.

Hello, I would like to know, against which Gao epitope was this antibody (Gα o Antibody (A2): sc-13532 ) raised? Is that rather N terminal or C terminal part of Gao? I could not find the information on your webpage. Thank you, Jana

Asked by: Jana Val
Thank you for your question. Gα o Antibody (A2): sc-13532 was raised against full-length Gαo of bovine origin. Its exact epitope region has not been determined yet, so I am afraid we currently do not have any information on the antibody's epitope.

Hi, I am wondering if this antibody can capture Drosophila Galphao protein from Drosophila S2 cells by western blot? Please let me know if you have ever seen publications about that. Many thanks.

Asked by: greenygreen
Thank you for your question. We are not aware of any publications at this time using this antibody in drosophila samples.

Can Gα o (A2): sc-13532 monoclonal antibody be used in IF or IHC with mouse tissue or cells? Will there be non-specific staining?

Asked by: DefinitelyNotMatt
Thank you for your inquiry. The use of mouse monoclonal antibodies with mouse samples is very common and typically poses no problem. To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent, Gα o (A2): sc-13532 is available in a variety of direct conjugations, such as HRP, PE, FITC and AlexaFluors.
