SEE ALSO...

Galactose Mutarotase Antibody (H-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Galactose Mutarotase protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Galactose Mutarotase (H-7) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Galactose Mutarotase is a crucial enzyme in the aldose epimerase family, playing a significant role in hexose metabolism by catalyzing the conversion of β-D-galactose to α-D-galactose, which is essential for proper galactose metabolism. This enzyme is predominantly located in the cytoplasm of most cells, where Galactose Mutarotase facilitates the interconversion of different sugar forms, thereby influencing energy production and cellular function. Galactose Mutarotase activity is vital for maintaining normal metabolic processes, as any disruption could lead to an accumulation of unmetabolized sugars, potentially resulting in metabolic disorders. The catalytic mechanism of Galactose Mutarotase involves critical residues such as Glu 304 and His 170, which are essential for enzymatic function, while His 96 and Asp 243 play important roles in substrate recognition. Understanding Galactose Mutarotase function and importance is crucial for elucidating metabolic pathway roles and potential implications in health and disease.
