FXR1 Antibody (D-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG3 antibody that detects FXR1 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). FXR1, or fragile X mental retardation 1 protein, plays a crucial role in the regulation of mRNA translation and stability, which is vital for proper neuronal function and development. FXR1 is predominantly located in the cytoplasm, where FXR1 associates with polyribosomes, facilitating the translation of specific mRNAs that are essential for synaptic plasticity and cognitive processes. The presence of FXR1 in the cytoplasm underscores its importance in the local translation of proteins in response to synaptic activity, which is critical for learning and memory. Additionally, FXR1 interacts with other proteins related to fragile X syndrome, such as FMRP and FXR2, forming heterodimers that may influence the regulation of mRNA targets. The ability of FXR1 to shuttle between the nucleus and cytoplasm, aided by nuclear localization and export signals, further emphasizes FXR1′s role in the dynamic regulation of gene expression and mRNA transport, making FXR1 a significant focus for understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying fragile X syndrome and related disorders.
