FXR1 Antibody (C-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG3 antibody that detects FXR1 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). FXR1, or fragile X mental retardation 1 protein, plays a crucial role in regulating mRNA translation and is essential for synaptic function and plasticity, which are vital for learning and memory processes. FXR1 is predominantly located in the cytoplasm, where FXR1 associates with polyribosomes, facilitating the transport and translation of specific mRNAs. Such localization allows for timely and spatially regulated expression of proteins necessary for neuronal development and function. Additionally, FXR1 interacts with other proteins related to fragile X syndrome, such as FMRP and FXR2, forming heterodimers important for messenger ribonucleoprotein complex assembly. Proper functioning of FXR1 is critical, as dysregulation can contribute to the pathophysiology of fragile X syndrome and other neurodevelopmental disorders.
