    SEE ALSO...

FX Antibody (43.1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG3 kappa light chain antibody that detects the FX protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-FX antibody (43.1) is available as the non-conjugated form. FX protein, also known as GDP-L-fucose synthetase or Tissue-specific transplantation antigen P35B, plays a crucial role in the biosynthesis of GDP-L-fucose, a key substrate for various fucosyltransferases involved in the modification of glycoproteins and glycolipids. This modification is essential for the proper expression of several glycoconjugates, including blood group ABH antigens and developmental adhesion molecules, which are vital for cell-cell interactions and immune responses. FX protein functions as a red cell NADP(H)-binding protein and is integral to leukocyte adhesion and trafficking processes, making FX protein important for immune system functionality. Notably, defects in the gene encoding FX protein can lead to leukocyte adhesion deficiency (LAD), a condition that impairs the immune response and increases susceptibility to infections.
