FUT2 Antibody (9T-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects FUT2 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). FUT2 (9T-8) antibody is available as the non-conjugated form. FUT2 plays a crucial role in the synthesis of the H antigen, a fundamental component of the ABO blood group system. FUT2 is primarily located in secretory tissues, including the salivary glands and gastrointestinal tract, where FUT2 facilitates the addition of fucose to glycoproteins and glycolipids, thereby influencing blood group antigen expression and secretion. The presence or absence of the H antigen can significantly impact blood transfusion compatibility and susceptibility to certain infections, making FUT2 an important protein in both clinical and research settings. Additionally, the FUT2 locus exhibits extensive polymorphism, which is essential for understanding population genetics and the evolutionary dynamics of human blood groups. Anti-FUT2 antibody (9T-8) is particularly valuable for studies involving human tumor cell lines, as FUT2 is expressed on the surface of several such lines, including BEL-7404, SPC-A-1, and SGC-7901, providing insights into tumor biology and potential therapeutic targets.
