SEE ALSO...

Fucokinase Antibody (F-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Fucokinase of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Fucokinase (F-9) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Fucokinase, also known as L-fucose kinase or FUK, is a crucial enzyme in the salvage pathway of fucose reutilization, catalyzing the phosphorylation of L-fucose to produce β-L-fucose 1-phosphate. This process is vital for the synthesis of glycoproteins and glycolipids, which play significant roles in cell signaling, immune response, and cellular adhesion. Fucokinase consists of 1,084 amino acids and belongs to the GHMP kinase family, exhibiting two alternative splice variants. The gene encoding Fucokinase is located on human chromosome 16, a region associated with several genetic disorders, including giant axonal neuropathy and Rubinstein-Taybi syndrome. Fucokinase′s importance extends beyond enzymatic function, playing key roles in blood group antigen recognition, metastasis, and inflammation, all of which utilize fucose, a sugar essential for various cellular interactions and signaling pathways.
