SEE ALSO...

FTα Antibody (C-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects FTα in human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). FTα, or farnesyl transferase alpha, plays a crucial role in the post-translational modification of proteins by catalyzing the attachment of farnesyl groups to specific cysteine residues, which is essential for the proper localization and function of several key proteins, including nuclear lamins and the oncogene p21Ras. The farnesylation process is vital for the membrane association and biological activity of these proteins, influencing cellular signaling pathways and contributing to processes such as cell growth and differentiation. Aberrations in farnesyl transferase activity can lead to various diseases, including cancer, making FTα a significant target for therapeutic intervention. Anti-FTα antibody (C-4) provides reliable detection and characterization of this important protein, facilitating research into its role in health and disease.
