Fra-2 Antibody (G-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody raised against amino acids 180-282 of human Fra-2 (Fos-related antigen 2/FOSL2), a crucial nuclear transcription factor. Anti-Fra-2 antibody (G-5) recognizes an epitope within this region and demonstrates broad species cross-reactivity, detecting Fra-2 in mouse, rat, and human samples through Western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) applications. Fra-2 maintains precise nuclear localization, where Fra-2 forms heterodimers with Jun family proteins, particularly c-Jun, through specialized leucine zipper and basic regions. These structural elements prove essential for both dimerization and DNA binding, enabling Fra-2-Jun complexes to recognize specific DNA sequences called TPA-responsive elements (TRE) within target gene promoters. Through this sophisticated mechanism, Fra-2 modulates transcriptional activity within the Activator Protein-1 (AP-1) complex, orchestrating the expression of genes controlling cell proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis. Through these diverse cellular functions, Fra-2 (G-5) antibody provides researchers with a valuable tool for investigating transcriptional regulation and fundamental cellular processes.

could you please tell me what is the relationship between sc-166102 and sc-166102 X? if i would like to do chip, should i purchase sc-166102 X? could i do wb,IF and other expriments by sc-166102 X?

Asked by: rsln
Thank you for your question. sc-166102 is recommended for WB, IP, IF, ELISA. If your are performing a Chip Assay we recommend the sc-166102 X since it is 10 x more concentrated.

When should the TransCruz reagent sc-166102 X be used instead of the standard form sc-166102?

Asked by: AbPolly
Thank you for your question. We recommend using the TransCruz reagent form when performing ChIP or GelShift assays. This form can also be used in other applications such as Western Blot or IHC, but the dilution should be adjusted by a factor of 10 to account for the higher original concentration.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Useless antibody for immunohistochemistryI do not know why SCBT discontinued their polyclonal antibodies for several of the transcription factors like Fra-2 and Fos. they worked beautifully in my research. The monoclonal replacements do not work at all. Huge waste of money. They would not even send a sample to test out prior to purchase to determine if it worked.
