FosB Antibody (C-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody raised against amino acids 257-283 at the C-terminus of human FosB, a crucial member of the Fos transcription factor family. Anti-FosB antibody (C-6) recognizes an epitope within this C-terminal region and demonstrates broad species cross-reactivity, detecting FosB in mouse, rat, and human samples through Western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) applications. The 338-amino acid FosB protein exhibits sophisticated structural organization that enables formation of stable heterodimers with Jun family proteins, particularly c-Jun and JunB. These complexes bind to specific DNA sequences called TPA response elements (TREs), allowing FosB to regulate genes controlling cell differentiation, proliferation, and stress responses. The C-terminal region where this antibody binds proves especially significant for FosB function, as this domain undergoes critical post-translational modifications, notably phosphorylation, that modulate FosB′s stability and transcriptional activity.
