FKBP14 Antibody (AT18E2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects FKBP14 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunofluorescence (IF), flow cytometry (FCM), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-FKBP14 antibody (AT18E2) is available as a non-conjugated format. FKBP14, also known as FK506-binding protein 14 or Peptidyl-prolyl cis-trans isomerase, is a crucial 211 amino acid enzyme that plays a significant role in protein folding during synthesis, which is essential for maintaining cellular function and homeostasis. FKBP14 is primarily localized within the lumen of the endoplasmic reticulum, where FKBP14 assists in the proper folding of nascent polypeptides, thereby preventing misfolding and aggregation that can lead to cellular stress and disease. FKBP14 contains two EF-hand domains and one PPIase FKBP-type domain, with the latter being critical for enzymatic activity. Notably, truncation of the amino-terminus of FKBP14 significantly diminishes peptidyl prolyl cis-trans isomerase activity, indicating that the PPIase FKBP-type domain must be positioned at the N-terminus for optimal function. FKBP14 is encoded on human chromosome 7, a region associated with various genetic disorders, including Osteogenesis imperfecta and Williams-Beuren syndrome, highlighting FKBP14′s importance in both normal physiology and disease states.
