SEE ALSO...

FKBP12.6 Antibody (H-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects FKBP12.6 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-FKBP12.6 antibody (H-8) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. FKBP12.6, also known as FK506-binding protein 1B, is a 108 amino acid member of the FKBP-type peptidyl-prolyl isomerase family, which plays a crucial role in regulating protein folding and function. FKBP12.6 is primarily located in the cytoplasm, where FKBP12.6 binds to ryanodine receptors in the cardiac muscle sarcoplasmic reticulum, thereby influencing excitation-contraction coupling, a vital process for heart muscle contraction and overall cardiac function. FKBP12.6 is essential for maintaining calcium homeostasis in cardiac cells, and dysregulation has been implicated in various cardiac pathologies. FKBP12.6 is expressed in multiple tissues, with highest levels found in the brain and thymus, and exists in two isoforms due to alternative splicing, highlighting diverse functional roles in different cellular contexts.
