    SEE ALSO...

Filensin Antibody (IB38) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Filensin in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and immunofluorescence (IF). Anti-Filensin antibody (IB38) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates, providing versatility for different experimental needs. Filensin, also known as CP94, CP95, or CP97, is a critical cytoskeletal intermediate filament protein located in the eye lens fiber, where Filensin plays an essential role in the assembly of beaded filaments that maintain optical clarity. The interaction of Filensin with phakinin is vital for the formation of these filamentous structures, which are crucial for lens development and the regulation of lens fiber cell shape and transparency. Notably, Filensin features a C-terminal non-α-helical domain that is integral to functionality, while the head domain contains a di-arginine/aromatic amino acid motif that includes a potential phosphorylation site for protein kinase A, highlighting the importance of post-translational modifications in modulating activity and interactions within the lens environment.
