Filamin 1 (1.BB.804) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody. Caldesmon, Filamin 1, Nebulin, and Villin are differentially expressed and regulated actin-binding proteins. Both muscular (CDh) and non-muscular (CDl) forms of Caldesmon bind to actin, calmodulin, and myosin. CDh appears predominantly on thin filaments in smooth muscle, while CDl shows wide expression in non-muscle tissues and cells. Filamin 1 exists as a homodimer and functions to crosslink actin to filaments across various tissues. Nebulin, a large filamentous protein specific to muscle tissue, may function as a ruler for filament length, with several isoforms produced through alternative exon usage. Villin, regulated by Ca2+, serves as the major structural component of the brush border in absorptive cells.
