Fidgetin Antibody (F-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects fidgetin protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-fidgetin antibody (F-2) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Fidgetin protein, encoded by the mouse Fign gene, consists of 759 amino acids and belongs to the AAA (ATPases associated with diverse cellular activities) family, specifically the meiotic or subfamily-7 group. Fidgetin (F-2) monoclonal antibody recognizes a protein that plays a crucial role in cellular processes such as membrane fusion, proteolysis, and meiotic spindle formation, highlighting its importance in maintaining cellular integrity and function. Fidgetin can self-interact, a property that is essential for its function, and this interaction can be disrupted by truncating either the N- or C-terminus of the protein. The spontaneous mutation known as fidget in mice leads to distinctive behavioral traits, including side-to-side head shaking and circling, which are attributed to the reduced or absent semicircular canals. Additionally, fidget mice exhibit small eyes due to cell-cycle delays and insufficient growth of the retinal neural epithelium, along with lower penetrance skeletal abnormalities such as pelvic girdle dysgenesis, skull bone fusions, and polydactyly, making the study of fidgetin relevant for understanding cellular mechanisms and developmental anomalies.

I am using the LiCor/Odyssey system. Which secondary antibody do you recommend using with fidgetin (F-2): sc-514956?

Asked by: Trav11
We recommend using one of our our exclusive Mouse IgG Binding Proteins conjugated to CFL 680 or CFL 790. They are suitable for use with Near-Infrared (NIR) detection systems, such as LI-COR/Odyssey and other comparable systems. A complete list of available binding proteins is available on our website here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/browse/support-products-mouse-igg-binding-proteins/_/N-ecrety
