    SEE ALSO...

Fes Antibody (D-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Fes protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Fes (D-9) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Fes protein, a member of the cytoplasmic class of protein tyrosine kinases, plays a crucial role in myeloid differentiation and is encoded by the proto-oncogene c-fes. Fes structure includes an SH2 domain, which is essential for mediating protein-protein interactions, and autophosphorylation capabilities that are vital for kinase activity. Fes interaction with various hematopoietic cytokine receptors and the B-cell receptor (BCR) highlights Fes importance in signaling pathways that regulate immune responses. Notably, phosphorylation of BCR by Fes facilitates BCR association with the Ras guanine nucleotide exchange factor complex GRB2/Sos, thereby influencing downstream signaling events critical for B-cell activation and differentiation.

FES is not expressed in K562 cells...why is there a signal in the WB??

    Asked by: finlir
Thank you for your question. Based on data information in protein atlas, there is indeed low expression of Fes in K-562 cells, so it is present in these cells.

I am using Fes (D-9): sc-377179 monoclonal antibody to stain paraffin embedded tissue. Do you recommend antigen retrieval when using this antibody?

    Asked by: Professor Griffin
We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
