Fer Antibody (C-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects Fer protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Fer (C-1) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Fer protein, also known as p94, is a non-receptor protein-tyrosine kinase belonging to the Fes/Fps family, which is characterized by unique structural features, including a functional Src homology 2 (SH2) domain. This structural configuration allows Fer to participate in signaling pathways mediated by receptor tyrosine kinases and cytokine receptors, distinguishing Fer from other non-receptor tyrosine kinases like c-Src and c-Abl. Fer kinase forms homotrimers through conserved coiled-coil domains, which play a significant role in autophosphorylation and subsequent regulation of cellular functions. Differential phosphorylation states in response to growth factor exposure enable Fer′s involvement in various biological processes, including insulin signaling and cell-cell communication. Fer is implicated in human prostatic proliferative diseases and is essential for G1 progression regulation, highlighting Fer′s importance in both normal physiology and disease states.
