Epsin 1 Antibody (G-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects Epsin 1 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Epsin 1 plays a crucial role in the endocytic process, particularly in the formation of Clathrin-coated vesicles, which are essential for the internalization of membrane proteins and lipids. Epsin 1 is primarily located at the leading edge of vesicular coated pits, where Epsin 1 facilitates the bending of the membrane, a critical step in endocytosis. The presence of an epsin N-terminal homology (ENTH) domain and a Clathrin-binding motif within Epsin 1 underscores Epsin 1′s importance in the recruitment of Clathrin and other accessory proteins necessary for vesicle formation. Additionally, Epsin 1 undergoes post-translational modifications, including phosphorylation, which can regulate Epsin 1′s activity and interactions with other proteins, thereby influencing the efficiency of endocytosis. Anti-Epsin 1 antibody (G-12) enables researchers to gain insights into the dynamics of endocytosis and the molecular mechanisms underlying synaptic transmission and cellular signaling.
