SEE ALSO...

Epac2 Antibody (A-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects Epac2 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-Epac2 antibody (A-7) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Epac2, also known as Exchange Protein Directly Activated By cAMP 2, plays a crucial role in cellular signaling by acting as a guanine nucleotide exchange factor that activates the Ras family GTPases Rap1 and Rap2 in a cAMP-dependent manner. This activation is vital for mediating various physiological responses, including gene expression, cell growth, differentiation, secretion, and neurotransmission, making Epac2 an important player in the regulation of numerous biological processes. Epac2 is predominantly expressed in the brain and adrenal gland, with significant levels found in regions such as the cortex, occipital pole, frontal lobe, temporal lobe, amygdala, putamen, hippocampus, and cerebellum, highlighting potential involvement in neuroendocrine functions and cognitive processes. Human EPAC2 is encoded by a gene that contains at least 31 exons and is located on chromosome 2q31, with a prominent 4.4-kb transcript that underscores importance in both health and disease.
