ENX-1 Antibody (C-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b antibody that detects ENX-1 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). ENX-1, a member of the Polycomb group (PcG) gene family, plays a crucial role in regulating gene expression during embryonic development by repressing homeotic loci, which is essential for proper body plan formation. ENX-1 is predominantly expressed during early embryogenesis and later becomes localized to the central and peripheral nervous systems, as well as sites of fetal hematopoiesis, highlighting ENX-1′s importance in both developmental and adult tissue contexts. The human ENX-1 gene encodes a 746 amino acid polypeptide featuring a trithorax-like domain and a DNA-binding motif, which are critical for ENX-1′s function in gene regulation. ENX-1 interacts with the proto-oncogene product Vav, suggesting involvement in the proliferation of both normal and malignant hematopoietic cells. Alterations in the regulation of target genes by ENX-1 may contribute to specific phenotypes associated with Down syndrome, underscoring ENX-1′s significance in both health and disease.
